We at Icelandair must show consideration for the space and security of all of our passengers, so please note that our personnel are not required to accommodate any large carry-on baggage such as framed pictures.
Oversized baggage will be stowed in the baggage compartment of the airplane with a bag tag on according to its destination.
As for the baggage you take into the cabin of an Icelandair aircraft, you are responsible for it and should place it under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.
Going east over the Atlantic . All Icelandair passengers who departed from the USA or Canada must go through EU/EEA (European Union / European Economic Area) security screening upon arrival in Iceland at Keflavik International Airport. If any liquid duty-free items have been purchased prior to boarding and departing from the USA or Canada and are still being carried in containers that can hold 100ml or more, these items will be subject to confiscation. An exception is made for duty-free items purchased in EU/EEA duty-free shops and kept in properly sealed bags.
Going west over the Atlantic . All Icelandair passengers who are entering the USA on an international flight and have EU/EEA dutyfree items in their carry-on baggage must keep these in properly-sealed bags and must pack these bags in their suitcases upon arrival, before they check in the suitcases for connections to US domestic flights.
