Pingdom Check

Check-in

Getting excited about your next trip? So are we!

Check-in is available 24 hours prior to departure for all destinations.

To begin the check-in process enter your last name and 6-digit booking number.

Online check-in is designed to work on desktop computers as well as smart phones and other mobile devices. You can also check in via the Icelandair mobile app.

Note that domestic flights and flights to Greenland may need to close online check-in for certain flights if disturbances due to weather conditions are imminent.

Get your boarding pass in Apple Wallet

When you check in online you can choose how to receive your boarding pass.

  • Send as text message
  • Send as email
  • Download and print boarding pass
  • Add boarding pass to Apple Wallet

You can access your Icelandair boarding pass with Apple Wallet, or store it to be scanned at the gate on the day of your flight – exactly like you would a paper boarding pass.

Just open the link in the email confirmation you receive after checking in online through your home computer or mobile device. Your boarding passes will save directly to your Wallet.

Check in at airport desk

Make sure you have all the required documentation at hand before checking in.

We recommend you have your 6-character booking number, as well as your passport for international flights or a form of ID for domestic flights.

Domestic flights: Passengers should arrive at least 45 minutes before departure.

Greenland flights: Passengers should arrive at least 90 minutes before departure.

International flights: Departing from Keflavík airport, check-in is at least 2 hours before departure.

Baggage check-in

If you have finished online check-in and have no baggage to check in (other than the allowed carry-on baggage), then you are ready to go to the gate.

If you have baggage to check in, go to the check-in desk and show your boarding pass.

Note: At Keflavík, Billund and Copenhagen airports there are self-service check-in stations where you can drop off your baggage. Make sure you've checked in at a self-service kiosk to print out your bag tags.
