Icelandair has been a proud supporter of the Icelandic music scene over the years, from the ever-popular and annual Iceland Airwaves music festival, to playing music from some of our favourite home-grown artists as you board our flights. To help bring those sounds and memories home with you, the Hot Springs collection began, and this year we are excited to present the arrival of the fourth volume in the collection - Kerið. We should start though with a confession. Kerið isn’t actually a hot spring, but instead a volcanic crater lake. This area, located in South Iceland, is certainly impressive enough on its own, but add the vistas of fantastically colored water into the mix and you will never see volcanos in the same light.

Despite the lack of hot spring status, Kerið is no stranger to music. In addition to its inspirational qualities, the crater's lake has also hosted boat concerts on at least two occasions in recent years. Imagine hearing the music in this fantastic Hot Spring CD collection performed live on a lake in a volcanic crater. Now, wouldn’t that be something?

MÚSÍKTILRAUNIR

Icelandair is the proud sponsor of Músíktilraunir, the Icelandic Music Experiments (IME), which has been the main venue for aspiring young musicians in Iceland since 1982. The IME gives young musicians an opportunity to play their music in public, and the winners each year are rewarded with a concert of their own at the Iceland Airwaves festival.
