Quincy, MA, June 26, 2015 - The UK government recently announced the elimination of the Air Passenger Duty (APD) tax for young persons aged 12 and not yet 16 years travelling in the Economy class cabin (excluding Economy Comfort) for travel commencement on or after 1 March 2016.
We are working towards updating our website in order to reflect this change, but currently 12 to not yet 16 years old are still being charged APD when booking on our Icelandair web sites.
If you would like to make a booking without having to be refunded at a later date, please book through our Service Center.
If you book on our Icelandair web sites you will be eligible to receive a refund if the young person in the booking is between the age of 12 and not yet 16 on the date of your flight departure from a UK airport and is travelling in Economy class cabin on or after 1 March 2016.
To request a refund of the APD paid then please complete this online form and we will then proceed with the refund(s) using the original payment card without any administration fee.
- Infant tickets are not charged APD
- Children under the age of 12 are not charged APD for travel in economy.
Passengers who have booked via a travel agent would need to contact their travel agent directly to obtain the APD refund.
