Icelandair fleet

We have a flexible Boeing fleet that marries commonality with varying sizes and capabilities. The mix of aircraft is perfectly suited to serve Icelandair’s international route network, which is designed around the unique geographical location of Iceland as a connecting hub between Europe and North America.

In April 2023, Icelandair announced plans to operate Airbus aircraft from 2025, in addition to its Boeing aircraft. Read the announcement about future plans for the fleet.

International operations

Boeing 757s offer long range and versatility, making them ideal for US West Coast and Canada operations.

Boeing 767s offer high passenger load along with great cargo capacity into high-density markets in Europe and on the US East Coast.

Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Boeing 737 MAX 9 are the latest additions to our fleet. These aircraft combine less fuel use, less noise and an innovative redesign of the aircraft cabin.

Domestic and Greenland operations

In March 2021, Icelandair and Air Iceland Connect united as Icelandair. This change is a part of strengthening our domestic route network and our operations to Greenland. As part of this integration, we added De Havilland Canada aircraft to the Icelandair fleet.
