This six-night vacation package (the first night of your vacation package is your overnight flight to Iceland on Icelandair) gives you the perfect opportunity to witness and experience the marvels of nature in its purest form. Explore the main attractions of South Iceland with this exciting escorted motorcoach tour, including the Westman Islands.
Join this amazing tour and discover the magic of these wonders and the magnificent natural landscape that surrounds them. Included in your Iceland vacation package is accommodation at hotels throughout Iceland (all with private bathroom facilities), daily breakfast, and dinner during three nights of your itinerary. Please note a minimum of 10 passengers is required for the tour to operate, with final group sizes ranging from 10 to 35 passengers.

Day 2 - Arrival in Iceland - overnight in Reykjavik
Early morning arrival in Iceland. Use your Flybus airport transfers from your Booking Confirmation to transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Please note breakfast is not included on your arrival day, and early check-in is not guaranteed. If your room is not ready, you can store your luggage at the hotel until such time. The remainder of your day is open for your own activities. For a very Icelandic way to shake off the jetlag, we suggest a visit to one of the local geothermal pools! You might also explore Old Town Reykjavik, a prime location for charming buildings, cafes and museums; or a walk to the nearby Pearl attraction for a great view. Day 3 - Volcanoes and steam - overnight in Vik area
Enjoy morning breakfast at your hotel before your tour departs from Reykjavík. Begin by travelling south through the greenhouse town of Hveragerdi. Fertile farmland and glacial rivers abound as you continue through the south of Iceland on the way to Skogar and Skogafoss waterfall. Visit with the farmers of Thorvaldseyri Farm located at the foot of the world famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano that erupted in the spring of 2010, as well as a visitors center/family-run exhibit that opened in spring 2011 where you can learn about the eruption, including a viewing of a 20 minute film about the spectacular natural event. Next, stop at she Skogar Folk Museum before continuing past Solheimajokull Glacier and the black sands of Reynisfjara beach. Total distance covered approximately 125 miles (200 km). (B,D)
Day 4 - Europe’s largest National Park and Glacier – Glacial Lagoon with icebergs
After breakfast you'll start your day by seeing Cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow on the face of the earth, followed by a visit to the small town Kirkjubaejarklaustur, the former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent. The tour continues over the black sands of Skeidararsandur to Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland's most outstanding areas of natural beauty, part of the new Vatnajokull National Park region showcasing the beauty of Icelandic glaciers and Icelandic folara. Next you will continue to the stunning Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon to marvel at the lake's collection of gorgeously-colored icebergs newly formed off the nearby Vatnajokull glacier. Enjoy them close-up on a boat tour in the lagoon. Throughout the day you also will see magnificent views of the mighty Vatnajokull, one of the largest glaciers in Europe. The day's dinner and overnight stay will be back in the Vik area. Total distance covered approximately 249 miles (400 km). (B,D)
Day 5 - Westman Islands - Pompeii of the North - overnight in the Golden Circle area
Travel along the south coast to Landeyjahofn harbor. After arriving at the pier at Bakkafjara, take a 30 minute ferry to the Westman Islands where you will explore Heimaey Island, the largest of the Westman Islands. Other adventures of the day include a visit to the puffins in Storhofdi, a walk up to the crater of a volcano which erupted only a few years ago, and exploring flora of the new lava fields. After lunch the group will have some extra time to explore the Islands on their own. Options available to take a RIB boat tour or visit the new Eldheimar museum (not included; booked and paid in Iceland). Please note if the route to the Westman Islands is closed due to weather conditions (spring or early summer), the tour will then visit alternate places in South Iceland. Day 6 - Exploding geysers - the Golden Falls - Thingvellir National Park - overnight in Reykjavik
Head towards the Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Great Geysir, as well as Strokkur, a hot spring that spouts every few minutes. The next stop is Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most impressive waterfalls. Then, no visit to the Golden Circle region is complete without a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Thingvellir National Park where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's largest lake. Head back to Reykjavik for your last night in Iceland. Total distance covered approximately 125 miles (200 km). (B)
Day 7 - Departure from Iceland
Start the day with your morning breakfast before catching some last minute shopping or sightseeing. Then use the Flybus airport transfer voucher from your Booking Confirmation to transfer to Keflavik airport for your late afternoon departure to North America. (B)
