This is a unique and unforgettable excursion through rugged roads in the southern highlands. Drive over the beautiful wide plains of southern Iceland before entering the highlands by the foot of Mount Hekla. The LandRover takes you through landscapes shaped by centuries of volcanic activity. Further on you will reach the “Valley of Doom” and drive uphill for fascinating views on the edge of the Torfajokull glacier , where fire and ice sometimes create spectacular ice caves from hot springs constantly working underneath the ice cap. Next explore an area with rocks in all the colors that you can possibly imagine in nature. Steaming hot springs make for a nice dip in the warm Landmannalaugar river. Afterwards, head back to Reykjavik via the stunning Markarfljot Gorge.
