Important : If you are arriving in Iceland on an evening flight from North America, this tour is NOT recommended for your arrival day. Passengers usually arrive at their hotel around 8am. Any delays could cause you to miss the tour departure. Icelandair cannot reimburse passengers for unused portions of a package or land only travel once travel starts.

An unusual take on a classic theme - Gullfoss and Geysir with a 4x4 jeep safari that will allow you to see the golden waterfall from a very different point of view accessible to only a few!
On this adventure jeep tour, start with a visit to the Geysir geothermal area, home of the great Geyser and his neighbor Strokkur geyser that erupts with 3 to 7 minutes intervals, and a classic view of Gullfoss. However this is where you'll head off the beaten track. Finding the way over the mighty Hvítá river, the tour follows a track to approach Gullfoss on the opposite side. You will need to walk a bit (1km/.6 mile) to reach a point where you can see the waterfall as it comes cascading down the white colored river. More waterfalls and canyons await discovery as the jeeps continue their travel on back roads and fording through unbridged rivers. Descend down to Thjorsardalur valley for a visit of the archeological site Stong, a farm that was a victim of the eruption of Hekla in 1104 and the Settlement farm, a reconstruction of Stong. Return to Reykjavík in the late afternoon.
