Option 1:  Longer Version- 4 nights (the first night is the night you leave North America)

Day 1: Evening departure from North America.

Day 2: Early morning arrival in Iceland.  On own transfer to hotel in Reykjavik.  We recommend the Fly Bus Plus transfers, which take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. (Price is $42 per person round trip).  Check-in at hotel.  The day is open for you to relax and enjoy charming, friendly Reykjavik.  Popular arrival day suggestions include the Reykjavik Grand Tour or afternoon whale watching. You might even visit the famous Blue Lagoon on your way to Reykjavik from the airport!

Day 3:   Be in the lobby by 8:30am for departure on the Golden Circle and Geothermal Steambaths tour.

Today is a wonderful combination of scenic natural wonders, history and relaxation.  Visit three of Iceland´s most famous places:   Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Thingvellir national park.   You will also make a short stop in town to enjoy a unique Icelandic tradition:   homemade rye bread that has been naturally baked underground in a steam oven. Afterwards you will be  escorted down to the nearby lakeside  to enjoy a newly renovated natural steam bath facility.  Located in the summer holiday region of Laugarvatn, "Fontana" includes three geothermally heated baths, a sauna, a warm sand beach, and access to the pristine waters of Lake Laugarvatn.  A visit to the open air baths will also give you the opportunity to experience the beautiful countryside with its mountains, lakes and lava fields.   Return to Reykjavik around 6:00pm.

Day 4: Morning open for own relaxation and activities.   At 11:30am, please be in the hotel lobby for Glacier Walk and Northern Lights tour.

Head through the scenic south coast of Iceland, dotted with farmlands, waterfalls and mountains.  The goal is the Solheimajokull glacier.  Here you'll  strap on crampons and take an ice pick for a guided walk on a glacier. After a lesson in how to walk on a glacier, your guide will take you on a safe and easy hike through a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses.  Afterwards, head to the scenic Skogfoss waterfall, site of legendary buried treasure.   Near Skogarfoss is the renowned Skogar Muesum, which you will visit. Located in a traditional Icelandic turf house, this museum shows how Icelanders lived in the old days, an ancient lifestyle that remained in Iceland into the mid-20th century.

As night falls, head for the charming Country Hotel Anna for a delicious traditional Icelandic meat soup dinner made with local ingredients (vegetarian option available). Afterwards, head out in the tour vehicle searching for glimpses of the elusive, beautiful northern lights.  The route changes based on best conditions for sightings.  Note-  Please note that the northern lights are a natural, weather-dependent phenomenon and, thus, sightings are not guaranteed.  The best weather conditions are cold, clear nights.    En route, you'll also visit Seljalandsfoss, a lovely ribbon-like waterfall that can be seen by night thanks to special lighting.  Tour is about 11- 12 hours.  Return to Reykjavik around midnight.

Day 5:  Morning open for own activities.  On own transfer to airport for late afternoon departure to North America.
