Important

Day 1
Evening departure from North America.

Day 2
Early morning arrival in Iceland. On your own, transfer from Keflavik airport to your hotel in Reykjavik. We recommend the Flybus Plus airport transfer option, which includes drop off/pick up at your hotel. Please keep in mind that most hotels start check-in at 2pm (4pm for FossHotel Reykjavik) and early check-in is not guaranteed. Guests booked on Icelandair vacation packages enjoy a priority check-in, based on availability, from 10am at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura, Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina and Hilton Reykjavik Nordica. Standard check-in begins at 2pm. All other hotels start check-in at 2pm (4pm for FossHotel Reykjavik).

We suggest a visit to one of the local outdoor geothermal swimming pools in Reykjavik. With water from natural hot springs, the pools are a fantastic way to shake off jetlag in a unique Icelandic setting. Most hotels are located in an area that includes a neighborhood swimming pool. The rest of the day is open for your own activities such as a city tour or an afternoon visit to the Golden Circle region. Many tour ideas can be found here. For dinner, why not visit one of the many great restaurants in the Old Town area of Reykjavik?

Day 3
Start the morning with breakfast at your hotel, followed by the remainder of the day which is open for your own activities. Many guests like to spend the afternoon and evening in the Old Town Reykjavik area and enjoying dinner at one of the many area restaurants before the tour starts. This historic area has been emerging as a vibrant new neighborhood, and with that comes the area's shops, restaurants, galleries, and fun excursions such as the Viking Maritime Museum.

Remember to make your way to the tour departure point in the Old Harbor area no later than 15 minutes before the tour, which begins at 8:45pm, November - March. The service information in your confirmation will show the departure time and the address for the tour starting point. Please remember to dress warm as it gets quite cold out on the sea.

Your evening tour takes you on a boat that has been specially-designed for hunting the northern lights. Seeing the aurora borealis out on the North Atlantic ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget. Warm coveralls are available if you need extra cold weather protection, and if you don't want to stay on deck for aurora viewing, the boat has a warm sitting area with a cafe/bar and wireless internet. The tour ends around midnight, at which point you'll be driven back to your hotel.

As a reminder, there are no refunds if northern lights are not seen during the tour. Sometimes weather conditions may require the tour operator to cancel the tour. If so, then you will be given some alternatives of booking the tour for another day or booking another experience for the evening.

Day  4
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. The morning and early afternoon are on your own, but be sure to be in the hotel lobby by 3:30pm for departure on the Blue Lagoon tour. The late afternoon and evening are wonderful time periods to relax at the Blue Lagoon and enjoy the soothing mineral water with the mystical light and shadows of an Icelandic winter. Please note the 4pm departure is specific to this vacation package and can not be changed. Once you've arrived at the Lagoon, use your Blue Lagoon Comfort Experience voucher at the admission counter. This voucher entitles you to admission, a visitor's pass, use of a towel, and a Miracle Mask. Additionally, you will get your choice of beverage at the Blue Lagoon bar. Also on site are a cafeteria, the Lava Restaurant and a skin care shop. Your stay at the Blue Lagoon is flexible. Scheduled tour buses head back to Reykjavik every hour until 9:15pm, so you can choose which one you want to take.

Day 5
Head down for breakfast and then head out for one final morning in the city. On your own, transfer to Keflavik airport for your late afternoon departure to North America.
