Experience bathing in geothermal hot springs and searching for the vivid & luminous northern lights, a unique combination best experienced in our home of Iceland. This vacation getaway includes a three-nights stay at one of the popular Icelandair Hotels, plus an evening visit to the geothermal pools, steam rooms and saunas of the Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths. If viewing conditions are favorable, you'll top off your relaxing spa visit with a guided hunt for the northern lights. The evening also includes a buffet dinner at Fontana's cafe, featuring delicious Icelandic countryside cuisine made from local organic produce.

Please take note because the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed, refunds or reductions in price are not granted if they are not seen the evening of your northern lights hunt. We would also like to advise this tour is not recommended for very young children due to the late night activities involved.

Day 1
Evening departure from North America

Day 2
Early morning arrival in Iceland. Show the Flybus Plus round-trip airport transfers service information from your confirmation to the Flybus attendant. Unguided transfer to your hotel in Reykajvik. Once you have arrived in the city, the remainder of your day is open for your own activities. For a very Icelandic way to shake off the jetlag, we suggest a visit to one of the local geothermal pools! You might also explore Old Town Reykjavik, a prime location for charming buildings, cafes and museums, or a walk to the nearby Pearl attraction for a great view overlooking the city. We highly recommend trying one of the many day & afternoon tours available for booking such as whale watching, horseback riding or a culinary walking tour, just to name a few.

Day 3
Enjoy your hotel's delicious breakfast buffet featuring Icelandic traditional breakfast favorites. The morning and afternoon is open to enjoy your own activities, but kindly be in your hotel lobby no later than 5:30pm for departure on the Warm Baths and Cool Lights tour. Remember to bring a swimsuit and towel to use at the Fontana spa, as well as a warm, windproof coat, hat and gloves as northern lights viewing can be cold.

The evening's destination is Laugarvatn, a charming town nestled in a valley rich in geothermal hot springs. The locals use the hot springs to heat their homes, provide hot running water and for healthy relaxing steambaths. Laugarvatn is also the location of the newly renovated Fontana Geothermal Baths, a spa & wellness center located near a hot-spring fed lake, featuring open-air geothermal pools & hot tubs, steam rooms and a traditional Finnish sauna. You couldn't ask for a better location to relax while nature prepares to color the sky with the magical northern lights.

After your refreshing spa experience, enjoy the Fontana cafe's buffet-style dinner featuring tasty Icelandic delicacies. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are not included in the buffet price but are available for purchase.

Refreshed in body and spirit, continue your evening adventure with the northern lights hunt. If weather conditions are right, you'll enjoy the show of a lifetime as you experience the northern lights dancing overhead in the night sky. Please take note because the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed, refunds or reductions in price are not granted if they are not seen the evening of your northern lights hunt.

Day 4
Breakfast at your hotel, with the day and evening open for your own activities. Perhaps you'll want to take on a different side of Iceland with an adventerous visit to the South Shore, or there are also many rewarding experiences like hiking, snowmobiling, caving and snorkeling or even something completely different like a cooking class or helicopter sightseeing. Check out our Tours & Add-ons to book any one of the many exciting day adventures available to you.

Day 5
Breakfast at your hotel with the rest of your morning open for your own activities. Transfer to Keflavik airport for your late afternoon departure to North America.
