IMPORTANT

Day 1
Evening departure from North America

Day 2
Early morning arrival in Iceland. Use the Flybus transfer service information from your confirmation to take the FlyBus airport bus to Reykjavik. Once you have arrived in the city, the remainder of your day is open for your own activities. For a very Icelandic way to shake off the jetlag, we suggest a visit to one of the local geothermal pools! You might also explore Old Town Reykjavik, a prime location for charming buildings, cafes and museums, or a walk to the nearby Pearl attraction for a great view overlooking the city. We highly recommend trying one of the many day & afternoon tours available for booking such as an afternoon Golden Circle tour, an Icelandic cooking class, whale watching or a guided city sightseeing tour, just to name a few.

Day 3
Start the morning with a Scandinavian buffet breakfast, included as part of your hotel stay (included at all hotels except Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura, Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina and Hilton Reykjavik Nordica). Then the departure for your tour, which runs about 11-12 hours, commences from your hotel with pick-up at 11:30am. Head through the scenic south coast of Iceland, dotted with farmlands, waterfalls and mountains. There will be a stop for lunch, which is not included with the package, before the glacier hike that follows. Strap on your crampons and take an ice pick for the safe and easy guided walk through a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses. Afterwards, head to the scenic Skogafoss waterfall, site of legendary buried treasure.

As night falls, head for the charming Country Hotel Anna (or similar) for a delicious, traditional Icelandic meat soup dinner made with local ingredients. Located on the site of a traditional Icelandic farm, Country Hotel Anna is named after the woman who grew up here, Anna Jonsdottir. She became a world traveler and adventurer in the early 20th century, writing popular books for Icelanders about her experiences. An exhibit at the hotel commemorates her travels.

Afterwards, head out in the tour vehicle searching for glimpses of the elusive, beautiful northern lights. The route changes based on best conditions for sightings. Please remember the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and weather dependent, and thus sightings are not guaranteed. The best weather conditions for seeing the northern lights are cold, clear nights. During the evening you'll also visit Seljalandsfoss, a ribbon-like waterfall which you can walk behind, depending on trail conditions. Return to Reykjavik around midnight.

Day 4
The day and evening are open for your own activities. Perhaps you'll want to take on a different side of Iceland on a South Shore Adventure, or unforgettable experiences like hiking, snowmobiling, caving or the Blue Lagoon, which you definitely don't want to miss. Check out our Tours & Add-ons to book any one of the many exciting day adventures available to you.

Day 5
Head down for breakfast and then head out for one final morning in the city, which is open for your own activities. Then, use the Flybus airport transfer voucher from your Booking Confirmation to transfer to Keflavik airport for your late afternoon departure to North America.
