Northern Iceland is a land of amazing adventures, offering diverse options for those who want to combine relaxation with fun and excitement in a veritable paradise of nature. There are countless opportunities for outdoor activities to suit everyone’s taste. Enjoy a relaxing visit to the charming, lively town of Akuryeri. The center of culture, education and leisure activities in North Iceland, Akureyri is the largest town outside of the Reykjavik capital area. In addition to its culture Akureyri is an excellent base for winter recreational activities such as downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horse trekking, super Jeep excursions and a skating rink. The town also offers one of the finest geothermal outdoor swimming pools in Iceland, a spa like facility located just steps from the Icelandair Hotel Akureyri.
There are few places in North Iceland better than the Akureyri area, in close range to the Arctic Circle. The best months for Northern Lights viewing are October through mid-April (subject to weather conditions).
This year, people have two choices of packages:
Option 1: 2 nights in Akureyri and 2 or more nights in Reykjavik (extra nights chosen at booking time)
Option 2: 3 nights in Akureyri and 2 or more nights in Reykjavik (extra nights chosen at booking time)

Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura ****:
(formerly Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir) The Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura guarantees early check in to travelers arriving on overnight flights from North America. Check in guaranteed by 10am! (only guaranteed for passengers on Icelandair Fly and Hotel packages traveling between Sep 1 and May 31; normal check-in is 2pm)
Four-star Reykjavik accommodation showcasing the best of Icelandic nature. Newly-renovated Reykjavik Natura is close to the city centre, in the quiet Oskjuhlid wooded area near the sea. The name of our hotel is inspired by the outstanding natural beauty that is on our doorstep. We are ISO 14001 certified as a green hotel.
The Natura is located next to Reykjavik landmark "the Pearl" and its surrounding woods and pleasant walking/cycling paths, and just a short walk from Nautholsvik thermal beach, where you can take a dip in a warmed lagoon of the North Atlantic, try some sea kayaking, or simply soak in a relaxing thermal hot tub (activities operate May - Aug). Our hotel also overlooks the nearby mountains and sea, as well as the city’s small domestic airport; spotting propeller planes as they come in to land is very popular with our younger guests! The hotel is close (yet just far enough, many say!) to the excitement of Reykjavik’s historical city center. It takes less than 30 minutes by foot to reach this area; hotel offers a free shuttle bus several times a day. You can also take a free bus to the Kringlan Shopping Centre to stock up on souvenirs.
Well-known for its welcoming and attentive staff, the newly reonnovated, elegant "green" hotel offers a comfortable restaurant, cocktail lounge, beauty salon, the elegant Soley Nature Spa, and a tour desk. Its 220 guest rooms feature private bath/shower with hair dryer, telephone, radio, and satellite TV. This hotel offers new Satt restaurant, a stylish cocktail lounge, gift shop, free storytelling nights (Thursdays), complimentary Icelandic themed movies in the hotel cinema, and a tour desk. During the summer bicycle rental is available and ideal for exploring the city’s many scenic bike paths.
Icelandair Hotel Akureyri *** is a new, friendly hotel with tastefully decorated, bright and sunny rooms and inviting facilities. Enjoy the midnight sun or the northern lights with open fireplace and blankets, drinks and snacks. The hotel features Aurora, a first-class restaurant and bar. The patio leads to a lovely hotel garden, where the atmosphere is as great in winter as in the summer, because then guests can sit around the fireplace and keep warm under leather covers.
