Are you hoping to experience the northern lights during your upcoming Iceland vacation? With this unique vacation package tour add-on you have the opportunity to experience them at sea, away from the city lights! You'll depart from Reykjavik harbor, sailing out to see the aurora borealis under the dark night of the North Atlantic ocean with the beautiful mountains and the glow of the night skyline in the background. On your way out, your tour guide will provide background on the natural phenomena, its surrounding folklore and superstition, as well as explaining the underlying scientific facts that make this magical light show possible. The tour boat is ideally designed for sightseeing cruises, with excellent viewing areas on the outside decks, and a warm and cozy seating area inside if you get too cold.

Be sure to keep in mind that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings, therefore, cannot be guaranteed, including due to inclement weather conditions. Refunds or reductions in price are not granted if they are not seen the evening of your northern lights hunt. In addition, the tour is dependent on weather and sea conditions. If a tour needs to be cancelled due to unfavorable conditions, other interesting options will be provided for you by the tour operator. Please remember to dress for cold weather by wearing warm, layered clothing, including rain and wind-proof outerwear to shield yourself from the elements. Warm coveralls are available on board the boat if needed, as well as a snack bar offering refreshments for sale, including hot and cold drinks.
